C&N offers a wide variety of PTFE fasteners. Regardless weather you want a xylan 1424 blue A193 B7 stud bolts (we consider very standard), or xylan black B-16 hex bolts, we are experts at PTFE coated fasteners. We are capable of providing a full gambit of colors and products. We stock many different sizes of xylan coated studs and xylan coated hex bolts, but also have the F-436 flat washers PTFE ready to ship as well… Other stock items already coated include:
Many of our PTFE fasteners are coated with a proprietary Flurokote#1 blend that offers superior characteristics for maximizing the life of fasteners. This PTFE coating include a tensile strength of up to 4,000 psi & an operating pressure up to 100,000psi. Unlike hot dip galvanized fasteners, the absence of oxides promise a safe and easy removal of "frozen nuts"when using xylan coated fasteners from Lightning Bolt.
Below is several advantages of coating with PTFE fasteners. FluoroKote#1® possesses a low coefficient of friction which reduces torque requirements. Therefore there is an easy on/easy off properties exhibited by these fasteners provide safe removal with wrenches. Lower your plant maintenance cost and increase safety by using Teflo-n™ fasteners. Sometimes refereed to as xylan coated fasteners, this fluropolymer coating offers a 2200 hour resistance to corrosion. Teflo-n™ fasteners are viewed by many engineers as a cost effective method of keeping corrosion under control, while not substituting for weaker alloys such as stainless steel.
Xylan is a family of fluoropolymer coatings designed by Whitford to provide corrosion protection, lubrication, wear resistance and non-stick properties in a variety industries and applications. it have below benefits
Anti-Rust. In a ASTM B-117 Salt Spray test the coating remains resistant up to 3900 hours before red rust occurs.
Sustainability. As we are working towards a circular economy, PTFE coated fasteners are more sustainable then regular bolts due to their longer durability.
Lower maintenance costs. Longer durability of bolts does not only result in more sustainability but also lower maintenance costs.
Low torque friction coefficient. Due to the TEF-LON top layer, torque friction is low.
Added value. Using colored bolts into the colored frame work, valve, flange or heat exchanger gives your product extra added value.

STEP ONE: Applying a base-coat such as Phosphate, Zinc, Zinc-Nickel, Hot Dip Galvanized or Xylar 1. The base coat has an average thickness of 10-15µ (except for HDG).
STEP TWO: Glass-shot blasting to roughen the surface of the fasteners to be coated.
STEP THREE: Having fasteners coated with PTFE Xylan 1070 or Xylan 1424 in the required color. See the table below for the top coat most suited to for your situation.
STEP FOUR: Heat treatment of the coated fasteners is performed.
No. Xylan and Te-flon are both brands of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) coatings. Although some Xylan and Te-flon products may have similar properties, it is important not to assume they will do the same job as there are variations of each product which are suitable for different applications and environments.
Yes. Amongst the Xylan range are a series of fastener-class coating systems designed to improve the performance and longevity of all types, sizes and grades of fasteners through its excellent corrosion resistant and low-friction properties. Xylan can be applied via dip-spin and spray methods, meaning it is suitable for small screws right through to large stud bolts.
Xylan actually comes in a wide range of colours but is often referred to as "Xylan Blue" or "PTFE Blue" in reference to coating B7 Stud Bolts and Nuts for the Petrochemical industry. Generally, the product required will be Xylan 1424 or Xylan 1070 however its always best to clarify with the end user or consult technical advice direct from Whitford or your preferred applicator to confirm.
