Product Description
Applications of duplex stainless steel pipes
Due to the excellent corrosion resistance and high strength of duplex stainless steel, duplex stainless steel tubing can be used in harsh environments, even in chloride and sulfide environments.
Duplex stainless steel pipes are commonly used for:
- Chemical processing, transportation and storage
- Oil & Gas Exploration & Offshore Rigs
- Oil & Gas Finesrefine
- marine environment
- Contamination control equipment
- Pulp and paper
- Chemical processing plants
Duplex stainless steel features
Duplex stainless steels have the microstructure of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels and have the properties of two groups of stainless steels, however, the two differ.
with austenite
- Higher yield strength
- Higher corrosion resistance
- Resistant to stress corrosion cracking
- Uncommon, temperate zones are used below 250 C.
- The machinability is not as good as austenite
- Strict control of heat treatment and welding process
- The price is stable
with ferrite
- Toughness is stronger than iron, not hard
- Corrosion intensifies
- Better machinability
- Better weldability
- It is more versatile than ferrite
- The price is higher
Corrosion resistance
Duplex stainless steels are extremely resistant to corrosion, including intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
heat tolerance
Duplex grades have good performance at high temperatures and can be used at low temperatures of at least -50°C, providing better ductility than ferritic and martensitic grades.
