Inconel 601 tube is a combination of nickel, chromium, and iron with small amounts of other elements such as aluminum and titanium. The 2.4851 material can withstand temperatures up to 1200°C, making the 601 tube suitable for use in high-temperature furnace applications. 2.4851 Inconel 601 tube is also resistant to thermal shock, making it ideal for heat exchangers and aerospace applications.

 

2.4851 Inconel 601 tube standard: 

  • ASTM B167: Specification covers nickel-chromium-iron alloys (UNS N06600, N06601, N06603, N06690, N06693, N06025, N06045, and N06696) in cold-worked annealed, hot-worked annealed, and hot-finished seamless pipe and tube.

Inconel 601 Chemical Composition:

Inconel 601 Temperature Limits:
Inconel 601 has good high-temperature resistance and can be used in low-temperature to high-temperature environments. ASME SB-167 UNS N06601 tube retains its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance at high temperatures up to approximately 1200°C (2200°F).

Inconel 601 Properties:

Inconel 600 vs 601:
Inconel 600 and Inconel alloy 601 are nickel-chromium alloys with excellent high-temperature performance and corrosion resistance. However, there are also some differences:

  • Composition: UNS N06601 has a higher aluminum content than UNS N06600 for enhanced oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures.
  • High-Temperature Performance: Compared to Inconel 600, Inconel 601 has slightly improved high-temperature performance, especially in terms of oxidation resistance and thermal stability.
