Stud Bolt

Stud bolts, a term used for cut-to-length all thread rod, are used for: bolting together flanges, anchor bolting, as well as general fastening. C&N is offering stud bolts in carbon, stainless, along with several special alloys. With stud bolt diameters ranging from 1/2" to 4″. Stud bolts are most commonly available with a plain finish, which is also referred to as Black. However, there are also numerous applications that call for coating/plating, with the most common Teflo-n Blue coating. Teflo-n, or Xylan, coating provides for increased corrosive resistance.

ASTM A193 Grade B6 Stud Bolts

ASTM A193 B6 is a high-temperature ferritic stainless steel (UNS 41000, 410 stainless steel) bolting specification for extreme applications in heavy industry. ASTM A194 Grade 6 nuts (UNS 41000, 410 stainless steel) are the corresponding nut. Grade B6 studs and Grade B6 heavy hex bolts are 12-13 % chromium. 

ASTM A193 Grade B6 is a standard material specification for chromium-ferritic stainless steel fasteners, for use in high tensile, high temperature and special purpose applications such as pressure piping & pressure vessels bolting. Grade B6 is a heat-treated 12% chromium-ferritic magnetic 410 stainless steel with minimum tensile strength requirement of 110 ksi and yield 85 ksi. ASTM A193 specification covers requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardness, heat-treatment and recommended nuts-washers for Grade B6 Fasteners.
