ASTM A269 stainless steel tube is an austenitic stainless steel tube for general corrosion resistance and low or high temperature service. Including ASTM A269 seamless stainless tube and ASTM A269 welded stainless tube. ASTM A269 tubing specifications most commonly used stainless steel pipe grades are TP304, TP304L, TP304LN, TP316, TP316L, TP316LN, TP317, TP321, TP347, TP348, S31254, N08367, N08904. These grades are selected on the basis of their chemical composition, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
ASTM A269 standard specifies the requirements for the chemical composition, mechanical properties, coating and marking of tubes. These requirements ensure the reliability and durability of ASME SA269 stainless steel tubes. A269 stainless steel tubing is produced using different methods including seamless and welding techniques. A269 seamless tube is produced by piercing a billet or rod which is then drawn onto a mandrel to form it into the desired shape and size. Welded stainless tubes are manufactured by rolling steel strip into a tube and then welding the edges together using a high-frequency resistance welding process.
