ASME SA312 UNS S30400 pipes have excellent corrosion resistance and good resistance to intergranular corrosion, and also have good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids. 304 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe VS 304 Stainless Steel Welded Pipe
1. The production process is different: 304 stainless steel seamless pipe is made by piercing steel ingots or solid tube billets and is produced by hot rolling, cold drawing or cold rolling, without welds. The 304 stainless steel welded pipe is produced by the welding process. It needs to go through the processes of steel strip curling, welding, and annealing. There are welds on the surface, which can produce large-diameter pipes.
2. Different toughness and strength: Stainless steel 304 seamless pipe has no welds on the surface, stronger pressure bearing capacity, higher toughness and strength, and is suitable for working environments with high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive media. While the toughness and strength of SS 304 EFW pipe are slightly inferior to seamless pipes, but it has good corrosion resistance and formability.
3. Different application ranges: due to the relatively high strength of SUS 304 seamless pipe, it is suitable for working environments that need to withstand high temperatures, high pressure, and corrosive media, such as chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy and other industries. UNS S30400 welded pipe is suitable for construction, decoration, food processing, and other industries due to its good corrosion resistance and formability.
